TOUR DETAILS:
SHORT TOUR AROUND THE ROCKS
After our easy early morning pick up
this Small Group Tour of the Blue Mountain starts at
7.30am. We commence with a short 20 minute tour through the
Rocks area, home too many fine old buildings and pubs from yesteryear.
This Rocks area is where the first settlement took place in 1788. We continue along the harbour foreshore under the Harbour Bridge, through the restored Walsh Bay development to Millers Point and back to the Rocks again, stopping at various locations for you to enjoy the magic of Sydney. Later today you pass the same place on the River Ferry back to Circular Quay.

Featherdale
Wildlife Park
We depart the city out over the Harbour
Bridge with our first stop at Featherdale Wildlife
Park for an early arrival at 8.0am(normal
open time 9.00am. As we are on a Small Group Tour
it takes only moments to unload from the Mercedes 14 seat
Mini Bus to enter the park.
You will have the Park virtually all alone when the residents,
all native Australian animals are having breakfast. You can
feed the kangaroos and wallabies, cuddle up close to a koala,
and enjoy the wombats, Tasmanian Devils and more….
Why not get “up close and personal” with the crocodile
or view the extensive collection including of Australian bird
life. You have ample time for this park. We do not hurry.
Our tour guides will help you secure memorable photo like some
of those on this website all taken by the team at Sydney Wilderness
Tours. We leave Featherdale around 10.00am.

This is Jon Ridenour, writing you to say thank you for
a great trip yesterday! My sons and I enjoyed all parts
of the tour and the day, and especially enjoyed our tour
guide, Rae Clinch.
Jeffrey, you also have my compliments for establishing
a tour that had so many "off the beaten track"
points of interest and time management. We enjoyed every
stop, with just the right amount of time at each one.
The lunch was a real feast, and in a most beautiful
setting on the golf course. The wildlife park almost
put my son Paul into a trance. I've never seen him so
focussed on the animals and, he took hundreds of photographs.
Of course, the nominal attraction of the Blue Mountains
was also as spectacular as ever, with awesome views
and walks. And the wine tasting! Wish I could afford
every varietal!
Cheers, and thank you,
Jon, Paul, and Jeff Ridenour

Blue Mountains National Park
At around 10.30am we enter the Blue Mountains National Park a World Heritage Area with an area of some 1,000,000 Hectares. The Highlights we visit are:
Kings Tableland Lookout
This is perhaps the best viewing areas to the Jamison
Valley. (In cloudy or very windy weather this lookout is inaccessible).
It is a fantastic location with expansive views over the wilderness
of the Blue Mountains. This location includes areas of those
traditional lands of the Gundungarra
and Darug Aboriginal tribal groups.
You will see rock markings and spear sharpening grooves on
the sandstone rock which was a meeting place for many of those
early inhabitants thousands of years ago. A rock shelter on
Kings Tableland scientifically dates Aboriginal prehistoric
occupation back 22,000 years.

Hi,
We are finally home and I wanted to send an email to let
you all know how much we enjoyed our Blue Mountain Tour.
Lucky for us we had perfect weather. Nigel did a great
job showing us around. I enjoyed that he was able to take
us on some good hikes. We enjoyed getting away from the
other tour buses. The mountains were beautiful. We enjoyed
the cable car rides and the railway ride up the mountain.
Our lunch at the Country Club was good and came at the
right time for a break.
Thanks again to Nigel and Sydney Wilderness tours for
making this tour so memorable. T
Cheers, and thank you,
Tom and Kathy Taylor Wake Forest North Carolina, USA

Gordon Falls and Wentworth Falls
Continuing further is Gordon Falls with an easy walk to more inaccessible locations where the view will take your breath away. This is great for our exclusive Small Group Tour. There are some easy walks from here. It is virtually unknown to other tour companies.
Wentworth Falls Lookout is another location with some excellent cliff top walks which we visit on occasions depending on the needs for the tour on that day. Some of the walks here are sensational. Or forget the walks. Just take in the breathtaking scenery. It is your choice.

Hi!
Wanted to tell you thank you for the great time we had
on our Blue
Mountains Tour. Daniel was an awesome tour guide. I can
speak for
our whole group how much we appreciated all the extra
things he told
us about and just how thoughtful and patient he was with
all of us.
Our lunch was great and really hit the spot. Please let
Daniel know
how much we enjoyed our tour. We went on July 17th. Thanks
again your country is beautiful. Would recommend your
tour.

Restaurant Lunch
Lunch is at the Wentworth Falls Country Club where you will enjoy an expansive two course lunch. There are relaxing views down over the fairways which the local kangaroos have made their home. Have a glass of wine or sit back and enjoy the intimacy of a small group tour.
Lunch is about one hour’s duration and Australian beer wines and soft drinks are available.
Scenic World, the Scenic Railway and Cable Cars
This whole complex is fantastic and extremely popular. This
is the busiest location in the mountains. Your experienced
tour guide will discuss the various rides with your small
group tour. There is plenty of time to do all three
rides if you like or you may prefer a combination of rides
and a walk.

Read
this testimonial from Mary Spadoni
Hi there!
Last week, my friend and I went on your Blue Mountains
Tour, and I would like to thank both Sydney Wilderness
Tours and our fabulous tour guide, Daniel. Not only did
he provide us with a safe, informative, interesting, and
friendly day……. tour through the Blue Mountains
- a day I will truly never forget. Also - I love that
we were able to get into the Wildlife Centre before all
the crowds got there - it was as if we had the entire
place to ourselves for the entire hour, allowing our Wildlife
experience to be wonderful, magical, and exciting. Thank
you thank you! Though I do not have very many friends
planning on travelling to Sydney in the near future, I
will certainly recommend your tour group when I get the
chance.

There are 3 rides to choose from:
- Scenic Railway down over the cliff face with an incline at the steepest point of 52 degrees.
- Skyway Cable Car “the yellow peril” which crosses the Katoomba Falls Valley.
- Flyway Cable Car descends from the top of the cliff down into the Jamison Valley near the old coal mine.
Your complete Small Group Tour package includes one of the rides of your choice. If you wish to do all three rides tick the booking box. You can also upgrade on the day to include the extra rides.
One popular option is where you can take a ride on the new yellow Skyway (2006) across the Katoomba Falls Valley with spectacular views 200 metres down to the valley floor. (see photos) This is the latest cable car and with a glass floor, the thrill is even more exciting. We disembark on the other side of the valley where there is an excellent, easy and optional cliff top walk available to the Three Sisters or reboard the Bus to drive around to the Three Sisters at Echo Point. (800 metres) In wet or inclement weather we avail ourselves to a 20 minute short film on the Blue Mountains.
Another option is the Furber Stairs walk down the side of the cliff, along some narrow paths and ladders. Not that difficult and gives a great feel of the Mountains. Some rustic paths and overhanging rocky ledges see photos. At the bottom you can board the scenic railway or the Flyway to come back to the top again.
Three Sisters Rock Formation
This icon is one of the most photographed icons in Australia after being formed by erosion over 100 million yrs. We have plenty of time here and we can join in some wine tasting of local wines.

This is Connie in Pennsylvania and I just wanted to send
you a note -- we LOVED our Blue Mountain tour. Daniel
was the best and most knowledgable guide! We very much
appreciated being picked up at our site. And the entire
day...from the trip to Featherdale -- to the drop off
at the ferry site was spectacular! Please pass our message
of thanks on to Daniel. We even met another group that
toured with him on Thursday and they were raving about
him as well.
We had a great time in Sydney -- and look forward to being
able to return someday. We're back in the States now --
unpacking and dreading going back to work!!
Take Care,

Just wanted to let you know that we were picked up at
the hotel as scheduled, along with 5 other couples that
were on vacation with us. This was the second day of our
vacation and our driver/tour guide was NIGEL. I told Nigel
that day that I thought this tour would be the highlight
of my trip and it was. The rain forest was beautiful and
breathtaking. Lunch was great and gave us an opportunity
to sample foods we were not familiar with - but most of
all, NIGEL made the whole day so much more interesting
and humorous. We were in Sydney for 3 days before we boarded
the Princess Sapphire and ended up in Auckland. And as
I predicted earlier, the Blue Mountain tour was indeed
the highlight of my vacation. I believe the other couples
on the trip with us agree. My thanks to Sydney Wilderness
Tours and most specifically to NIGEL.

A walk in Leura Village
This quaint little mountain village is a perfect place to have a coffee and 30 minute short stroll of the shops. This activity is not a must every day but great if there is a need for it when the “rain gods” are not happy.

Olympic Park, Ferry Wharf & Rivercat Ferry
Around 3.30pm we return down from the mountains to the Parramatta River Wharf of Homebush Bay part of the Sydney 2000 Olympics site. You will find it most interesting to see what has happened since 2000. It is far from deserted or neglected, in fact far from it. With good forward planning this location is thriving with a large increase in housing, business, office accommodation, hotels and sporting activities.
At Homebush Bay you board a River Cat Ferry Cruise for a 35 minute river high speed cruise down the river passing numerous land marks and vast property developments to enter the magnificent Sydney Harbour where you pass under the towering Harbour Bridge , past the Opera Houseand disembark at Circular Quay where your tour concludes at 5.45pm. You are free to make your own way back to your hotel.
